Using the JVC HDR Projector

Before using the JVC HDR Projector, set the JVC HDR projector for an optimum use.

  1. In Virtual Photometric Lab, click Preferences .

  2. In the Monitor tab, set Display to JVC HDR projector.

  3. To have the best visual rendering of a scene:

    1. Measure the max luminance L0 of a white map you can achieve.

    2. Set the value in Virtual Photometric Lab in the Maximal Level Controller of the scene to display.

If the max luminance of the map to display is lower than L0, use the max luminance of your map.

Setting the Profile

The Profile corresponds to the screen you use in front of your JVC HDR projector.

  • The Gain represents the luminance restitution of the screen.

Example: Gain 2.4 means the screen luminance is approximately 2400 cd.m-2.

  • For a Gain 1.0 / Custom white point luminance, you can set a specific white point manually. That means you can display in 1:1 scale (depending on the max level of your projector and the max level of your map).

Note: All JVC settings restitutions have a 6-bit color depth.
