DIS Ray Files

Note: The Flux is not exported in the *.txt file. When importing a *.txt file in the Ray File Editor, the Flux is set to 1 Watt by default.
  1. If you select .dis, you can create n intervals with the minimum and maximum defined to sort the rays. The energy value is converted into a flux value according to .

    1. In Min, set the minimum wavelength value in nanometers.

    2. In Max, set the maximum wavelength value in nanometers.

    3. In Number of files, set the number of files created during the export.

If you set Number of files to 1, you can create a single file with the average wavelength of the interval (400-700 = 550nm). All the rays are included in the file and their energy value is apodized according to .

.ray files can be multi-wavelengths but .dis files cannot.

The export to and import of .dis stores only the photometric flux and not the radiometric flux. This can explain different variations in the number of rays between a .ray file and its .dis export. Only rays in the visible spectral range are stored.

  2. Click Save.
