Look Over Angle

The Look Over Angle test gives the angle between the Vehicle Direction and the projection, on the plane normal to the Top Direction, of the line passing through a sample of the eyebox and the center of the virtual image for this eyebox sample.

In detail:

For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the Look Over Angle gives the angle, expressed in degrees, between the Vehicle Direction (you specified in the General tab) and the projection of the optical axis on the horizontal plane.

Optical axis: For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the optical axis is the line between the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox and the center of the virtual image seen from the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

Horizontal plane: The horizontal plane is the XY plane of the direct axis system define by -X = Vehicle Direction and Z = Top Direction. Vehicle Direction and Top Direction are the vectors you specified in the General tab.

Note: In the plugin, the dynamic distortion (the virtual image seen from the sample EBij) is computed in three dimensions.

The result of the computation is displayed as a table that contains the Look Over Angle computed for each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

Note: The Minimum (°), Maximum (°), Look Over Angle (°), Look Down Angle (°) values are absolute values.
In particular, you can notice that:
  • There is one table result by configuration created.
  • Each table has the size of the sampling of the binocular eyebox.
  • The test also displays a sum up, for each configuration, of the Average, the Standard deviation, the Minimum and the Maximum of the value contained in the table.
