Support

The support drives the construction of the surface's elements. Elements can be built on a Parabolic or Freeform surface.

Parabolic

With the Parabolic type, the four corners of each element belong to the parabolic surface.

To generate the support, an origin, axis and orientation need to be selected.

  • The Origin point determines the absolute position of the surface. By default, the source position is used.

  • The Axis determines the optical axis of the surface.

  • The Orientation is defined by selecting a line fixing the orientation of the surface around the Axis.

Note: Orientation might not be defined on a plane normal to the Axis. In this case, orientation is automatically projected onto such plane.

Freeform

With the Freeform type, elements are built on a user-defined freeform surface.

A surface must be selected as support.
