Radii

The Radii lens is a spherical lens used to ideally diffuse light.

Pillow or Radii lens is a spherical shaped lens that transmits and spreads light. Light goes through the lens and illuminates objects placed in front of it.

With the pillow lens, a definition of certain parameters is required:

  • You need to define the Radius of the lens.
  • You need to select an Orientation: concave or convex.

A concave lens has a surface that is curved inwards.

A convex lens has a surface that is curved outwards.

Note: For each element, the convexity/concavity is defined with regards to the source.

Radii is available for Rectangular, Circular, Freestyle and Honeycomb lens types.

Rectangular

X radius: Radius of the lens along X grid axis.

Y radius: Radius of the lens along Y grid axis.

Convex Lens Concave Lens
Circular

Start radius: Smallest value of the radius of curvature of the elements along the transverse axis.

End radius: Highest value of the radius of curvature of the elements along the transverse axis.

Radial radius: Radius of the elements along the radial axis.

Convex Lens Concave Lens
Freestyle

Freestyle Rectangular: Parameters are the same as the ones used for the rectangular type.

Freestyle Circular: Parameters are the same as the ones used for circular type.

Honeycomb Radius of the lens
