Creating a Sharp Cutoff Beam in Advanced Mode

This procedure shows how to create a Sharp Cutoff beam in advanced mode. The advanced mode allows you to control the light distribution on the target per point on facet.

To create a Sharp Cutoff beam in Advanced Mode:

Prerequisites: Make sure to use an extended source.
  1. From the Groups panel, click Add to add as many groups as needed.
  2. Select a Group and from the Type drop-down list, select Sharp Cutoff.
  3. Set Advanced mode to True.
  4. Define the beam parameters:
    1. Define the horizontal and vertical control planes position on X and Y directions:
      1. Click in a line of the table and click to create a new control plane.

      2. In Horizontal control planes and Vertical control planes, define the X and Y position of the current plane.
    2. For each plane created, define the reflected rays direction:
      1. In Horizontal Spread, define the direction of the reflected rays along the horizontal axis of the target (X).
      2. In Vertical Spread, define the direction of the reflected rays along the vertical axis of the target (Y).
    3. In Vertical orientation, type a value to adjust the horizontal spread size of the beam on the target.
    4. In Tilt, enter an angular value (in degrees) define the cut-off line's orientation.
