Adding and Defining Targets

The following procedure helps you define the targets that correspond to the output elements on which you want to measure/evaluate/assess the impact of the variables defined.

  1. Create measures that will be used as targets in the optimization:
    1. In Speos, Compute the simulation to be used in the optimization.
    2. Open the result and define Measures in the Lab.
    3. Select File > Export template.
    4. In Speos, use the template as XML template in the sensor that generated the result.
This will define the measures as targets in the optimization.
  2. In the Optimization definition, in the Variables panel, select the Targets tab.
  3. Click to open the Document variables list.

The list shows you the available measures that you can add as target that come from the results of the simulation.
  4. Check the measures to target.
Tip: In case of a large number of measures, you can use the filter tool to help you quickly find them.
  5. Close the Targets list.
Targets appear into the Targets tab.
  6. In the Targets tab, for each target, set the Target value to reach (Merit function minimize) or from which to move away (Merit function maximize) and its Weight.

The weight corresponds to the level of importance of the target according to the other targets. The higher the number the more weight the target.
Now you can add variable types if not yet done as Design variables, Simulation variables or Document variables.
