Defining an Aspherical Face

This procedure helps you define an aspherical back face or an aspherical front face during a projection lens creation.

To create an aspherical face:

Prerequisites: You must have set the Back face type or Front face type to Aspherical.

  1. In the Back / Front Face section, define the Aperture diameter of the lens' back / front face in mm.
  2. In Curvature, define the radius of curvature for the spherical part of the lens' back / front face.
  3. If needed, define the Conic constant of the lens.
  4. If needed, in the Aspheric table, define the 29 aspherical values corresponding to the aspherical coefficients.

These coefficients are used to adjust the lens or remove any construction aberration.

Note: For more information on the aspherical coefficients, refer to Understanding Projection Lens Parameters.
The aspherical face has been defined.
If not yet defined, define the plan, aspherical or automatic characteristics of the other face.
