Texture Mapping Preview

Speos provides the possibility to dynamically preview the texture mappings in the 3D view while working on them so that you can directly see if textured materials are correctly defined.

Description

Texture mapping preview allows you to:
  • immediately access to texture preview on geometries while editing the UV mapping properties. This way you can have a dynamic overview of the mapping and understand if a textured material is well defined.
  • See the texture size on geometries while setting the texture parameters.
  • See the alignments between textures on multiple objects when setting UV mapping.
  • See the UV orientation when setting anisotropic properties.
Texture Mapping Preview:

The preview of the textures corresponds to the simulation results and the Live Preview.

If no texture or material is defined, a default rendering (checker texture) is displayed for the texture or the normal map to help you set the UV map:
  • The arrow indicates the vertical axis to help you orientate anisotropic materials.
  • The checker texture measures 100x100 mm, and each colored square measures 10x10 mm. This can help you assess the distortions due to the projection on the geometries.

Example

The following example is a combination of two textured materials:
  • Textured Material 1 is applied on the solid and composed of one Surface Layer
  • Textured Material 2 is applied on a face and composed of two Surface Layers
Note: The Texture image of both Surface Layers 1 is a real image that looks like the default rendering when no texture is applied.
