CAD File Import Overview

The following page provides you with the import types to import external CAD files according to your needs.

The external CAD files that can be imported into Speos are CATIA V5, NX, CREO, Solidworks files.

SpaceClaim Reader

Note: The SpaceClaim Reader is the importer activated by default. In case it is deactivated, refer to Configure the SpaceClaim Reader to activate it.

The SpaceClaim Reader allows you to import CAD files (CATIA V5, NX, CREO, Solidworks) using the SpaceClaim importer.

In case of CATIA files, the files are imported in lightweight. The other CAD files are imported in heavyweight.

The Workbench Plug-in/Reader corresponds to the importer when the SpaceClaim Reader is deactivated.

The Workbench Plug-in/Reader is mandatory to use the Block Recording tool in Speos context.
