Exporting data to Excel

You can export data to an Excel workbook, where users with no knowledge of Granta MI, or the structure of the information that must be supplied, can review and update data, or enter new data in Microsoft Excel.

Exported workbooks can then be edited and then imported back into Granta MI using the MI Import app, to add or update data.
Note: This feature is only available if your data view has been configured to enable it.
  1. Select the records of interest, then choose Export > Export Data to Excel on the toolbar.
The Export app opens, with the records you selected in Explore listed.
  2. Choose a template.
The template defines which data and record properties will be exported, and other data display options.
  3. Click Export.
You can see the progress of the export job in the History panel.
  4. When the job is completed, click Download exported data.
The Excel workbook will be saved in your browser Download folder. If you selected multiple records, or if the data being exported includes any embedded files or picture data such as PDF files or images, the export download will be a zip file containing the workbooks and any related data files.
