Assigning a material in HyperMesh

Use MI Materials Gateway to assign materials from your Granta MI database to components in your part geometry, for use in simulation.

  1. In the assignments panel, select the components that you want to assign a material to.
  2. In the upper half of the MI Materials Gateway window, find a material, and double-click to assign it.
    Tip: To see all available material models, you can right-click the material and select CAE material models.
  3. Optional: If there is more than one type of material model available, double-click the model you want to use.
  4. Optional: If prompted, enter values for any parameters required by the model.

The material data required for simulation is assigned to the component in HyperMesh.

You can use the assignments panel to view and manage your Granta MI material assignments.
