Read and Edit mode
To prevent accidental edits and deletions to version-controlled data, Explore has two modes.
- In Read Mode, only Released records are visible. No records can be edited or added.
- In Edit Mode, users with the necessary permissions can see and edit Unreleased versions, and perform version control operations such as releasing, reverting, and withdrawing records. See Required roles for viewing and editing operations.
The currently-selected mode is shown in the Explore toolbar, and you can click here to open the application preferences and change mode, when required:
To switch modes, in the Explore application preferences, set the Viewing Mode option:
