Running a Sustainability analysis or report

When you have assigned data to your BoM, you can either click to view a Sustainability analysis in the BoM Analyzer window, or run a Sustainability report (in Excel format) that you can download and save.

Note: To run a Sustainability analysis or report, you must be in Sustainability mode in BoM Analyzer.

To view the analysis in the BoM Analyzer window, click Analyze in the toolbar. For more details, see Viewing a Sustainability analysis.

Tip: If you have more than one BoM open, you can also view a comparison of the analysis results for each BoM. For more details, see Comparing BoMs.
To run and download the Excel report, click Run a report on the BoM in the toolbar, then select Sustainability and click Run. For more details, see Viewing a report on a BoM.

The Sustainability analysis (in the BoM Analyzer window) and the Sustainability report (in Excel format) both carry out the same calculations, and show the same detailed mass calculations and indicators for each item in the BoM hierarchy.

The Excel report analyzes a single BoM. It has additional sheets that include a product-level summary, and a breakdown that highlights the key contributors to each environmental indicator for each of the Material, Processing, and Transport phases.
The analysis in BoM Analyzer allows you to view this product-level summary and breakdown of indicators in an interactive format, so you can drill down to see more data, and export tables or graphs as required. You can also view a comparison of indicators for up to 10 BoMs.

Important: To see warnings and information about missing data, values that could not be calculated, or any other limitations that apply to the results, click the Messages tab in the Information panel below the BoM, or view the Information about this analysis sheet at the end of the Excel report.
