BoM Analyzer
Bills of Materials (BoMs) detail the parts and assemblies that make up a product. You can analyze BoMs either to establish their restricted substances compliance, or their sustainability impacts.
MI Restricted Substances and MI Sustainability are optional analysis packages for
Granta MI. Your organization may have
purchased either or both of these packages.
- MI Restricted Substances supports regulatory risk and compliance analysis and reporting, using in-house and supplier data in combination with Granta reference data
- MI Sustainability supports analysis of the embodied energy, climate change, and end-of-life impacts of the materials, manufacturing, and transport of a product, using in-house and supplier data in combination with Granta reference data
The analysis and reporting features that are available to you in Granta MI will depend on
the licenses that your organization has purchased.
If you have a license for one product only, BoM Analyzer will automatically open in the correct analysis mode.
If you have a license for both products, you can click Choose analysis to switch between Restricted Substances analysis mode and Sustainability analysis mode.
Note: Because BoMs are displayed differently, you cannot switch between Restricted Substances and Sustainability while you have a BoM open. Any open BoMs will close automatically, and you might lose any unsaved data.
