Importing materials into ANSA
You can import CAE material models (material cards) from your Granta MI database to your current analysis model in ANSA for use in simulation.
A CAE material model is based on a specific material, plus a model definition that specifies the attribute data that is included, its format and structure, and the units used to generate the model. For more information, see CAE material models.
To find materials to import, you can search or browse for materials in your Granta MI database, or use a material from your favorites.
Depending on your system settings and the data available, you may have additional options:
- If there is more than one type of CAE material model available for your selected materials, you are prompted to choose the model type. See Selecting CAE material model types.
- For parameter-dependent models, you may be prompted to specify parameter values. If you want to skip this step, you can choose to use defaults whenever possible. See Specifying parameter values for a material model.
- If any of the attribute data required by the CAE material model is missing, you can review the missing data and change your selection of materials for import.
