Deployment and installation planning

This section is intended for IT/operations specialists to use, in consultation with SQL Server administrators, to coordinate and plan the required pre-installation setup tasks.

This includes making decisions about deployment topologies, SQL Server setup, user accounts, and security groups.

A Granta MI Pro deployment consists of:

A Granta MI Pro application server running the core materials data management software.
A Microsoft SQL Server instance or Azure SQL Database that contains the materials databases and the Granta MI configuration database (MIConfig).
Desktop clients running Granta MI Materials Gateway, a client application which enables users to access materials data in Granta MI Pro directly from within CAD and CAE applications.
