The Network Thermal Model Dialog

The Network Thermal Model dialog box is an editing and schematic tool, which allows you to create, view, or update any design of network boundary conditions.

Note: Boundary nodes and internal nodes with a power definition greater than zero appear red in the schematic.

The Network Thermal Model dialog box contains the following general and thermal information for the selected boundary condition. Double-click a node or link to edit its properties. See Network Node and Link Properties for more information about face, boundary, and internal nodes, and R and MC links.

Note:

You can draw a box in the schematic or press Ctrl to select multiple components.

OK OK accepts the changes to the network and closes the dialog.
Cancel Cancel closes the dialog without saving any changes.
Undo Undo reverts the previous action.
Redo Redo reapplies the previous action that was reverted.
Delete Delete removes the selected component from the schematic. You can also right-click one or more components and select Delete Selections.
Internal Node Internal Node allows you to place an internal node in the schematic.
Boundary Node Boundary Node allows you to place a boundary node in the schematic.
R Link R Link allows you to place a resistive link in the schematic. Select two nodes and click R Link to create a link.
MC Link MC Link allows you to place a convective link in the schematic. Select two nodes and click MC Link to create a link. To reverse the direction of the MC link, right-click it in the schematic and select Reverse Flow.
Fit All Fit All zooms to fit all or only selected components.
Hide Labels The hide options allow you to hide or show the names for nodes, faces, R Links, and MC Links.

Highlight Filters

To highlight links or nodes in the schematic in red, select a Type and one of its Properties from the drop-down lists. Then specify the Min and Max value range to highlight. Click Highlight to display links in red and nodes with a red outline.

List

List opens the Network Properties dialog box, which displays link and node properties. See Network Properties Table for more information.

Layouts

In the network schematic, the Circular layout is selected by default. Optionally, select the Fruchterman-Reingold layout, which considers network nodes, network display area and minimum and maximum lengths for the links. The Fruchterman-Reingold layout is recommended for networks with fewer than 50 nodes.
