Ansys SIwave™ Solutions in HFSS 3D Layout
Ansys SIwave™ is a printed circuit board (PCB) and package electromagnetics simulation software for power-ground plane and signal integrity analysis. It employs a powerful full-wave analysis engine to generate both frequency-domain and time-domain results. Using the highly optimized internal field solver, SIwave simulates complete board/package designs with full-wave accuracy. Simulation results can be reported graphically using advanced 2D and 3D plotting methods. For more information about the standalone SIwave product, consult SIwave help.
Not all solution types are available through the IC Mode environment.
HFSS 3D Layout contains the following SIwave solution types:
- SIwave SYZ Solver – a high-speed hybrid solver for medium and large-scale analysis of PCBs and packages, the SIwave SYZ Solver calculates frequency-dependent S-parameters for signal integrity and EMI investigations, and board-level power supply impedance modeling.
- Near Field Solver – a solver for analyzing the near-field region of PCBs and packages, which calculates electromagnetic fields and currents to assess near-field EMI, crosstalk, and impedance effects, ensuring optimal signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Far Field Solver – a solver for analyzing the far-field region of PCBs and packages, which calculates electromagnetic radiation patterns and scattering effects to assess far-field EMI, antenna performance, and regulatory compliance, ensuring optimal signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- SIwave DC IR Solver – a solver for voltage drop across the power plane and provides important information pertaining to power delivery.
-
SIwave-PSI Solver – a solver that enables customizable simulation of PCB, package, and RDL designs with enhanced modeling options for conductor roughness, bond wires, and dielectric fill refinement. It supports both discrete and interpolating frequency sweeps, adaptive sampling, and optional DCIR integration for comprehensive signal and power integrity analysis.
