Layout Stackup
A stackup is the list of physical layers in a circuit board. Electronics Desktop offers three types of stackups:
- Laminate: All layers physically stack one another with no overlap on the Z-axis. This is the default type.
- Multizone: Layers physically stack on one another in the Z-axis but each layer can have zones made of different or no material.
- Overlapping: Layers can physically intersect one another on the Z-axis.
A stackup is defined in the Edit Layers window which you can use to add, configure, and remove layers on the stackup. To access this window on the Layout Editor, select Layout > Layers. If you are working in the Schematic Editor, select Schematic > Layout Stackup.
