Virtual Desktop Storage
When you launch a virtual desktop, you can access the virtual desktop's file storage system using the file explorer. There are two types of storage on a virtual desktop: persistent and temporary storage.
Persistent Storage
A virtual desktop typically has a C: drive that can be used for persistent file storage. Data remains there until someone explicitly removes it. Additional permanent storage drives can also be configured.
Additional disks on Windows virtual desktops may need to be formatted before use. Use the Computer Management (compmgmt.msc) utility on Windows to assign drive letters and partitions to the new storage device as needed.
Temporary Storage
A virtual desktop also has a Temporary Storage disk (D: drive, for example).
The temporary disk is useful for data that is temporary in nature, such as a Windows page file - a system file that helps the computer to manage virtual memory.
