HPC Clusters
For 2024 R1 and earlier releases of Ansys applications
An HPC cluster is a set of compute resources (nodes) that are networked together. The head node manages job scheduling, while compute nodes do the work. Compute nodes work in parallel with each other, boosting processing speed to deliver high performance computing.
Use an HPC cluster when you have a large problem that demands more computing power than a single virtual machine can offer, or when you need to get results more quickly.
Standard HPC clusters can be created in project spaces that support 2024 R1 and older releases.
If an administrator has added an HPC cluster to a project space, and you have Admin or Windows Admin permission in the project space, you can submit jobs to the HPC cluster.
