Ansys Lumerical Virtual Desktop
Ansys Lumerical is supported on Windows and Linux virtual desktops.
Follow the instructions in Creating a Virtual Desktop in the Administration Guide.
When creating a virtual desktop, use the following guidelines:
Operating system: Windows or Linux
Note: If using a CentOS image to create a Linux virtual desktop, see Important Notes About CentOS Linux Images in the Administration Guide.Applications: Ansys Lumerical
If installing Ansys Lumerical for Linux, GNOME Desktop and XRDP for GNOME are automatically added as well.
Note: Ansys recommends that you create the virtual desktop without any applications, and then add the application after the virtual desktop has been created. See Adding Applications to a Virtual Machine in the User's Guide. Sometimes, Windows updates are triggered on newly created virtual machines, causing application installation to fail.In the left panel, select the Ansys Lumerical application and then specify your license server information:
Hardware:
CPU workflows: r7iz, c7i, c6i, c6a
GPU workflows: g5, p3 (note that p3 instances are not supported for Linux VDI)
When the resource is in the Running state and the Connect button is displayed at the bottom of the tile, you can connect to the virtual desktop. See Launching a Virtual Desktop Session in the User's Guide.
