How Users are Added to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS
The person who ran the setup becomes a tenant administrator by default and has full administrative privileges in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS. For details on this role, see Types of User Roles in the Getting Started guide.
If Ansys Gateway powered by AWS was set up using the Express setup option, the tenant administrator must add other users via the Add users action on the page.
If Ansys Gateway powered by AWS was set up using the Manual setup option, which integrates with Active Directory (AD), user accounts must first be added to the security groups created within the Organizational Unit (OU) defined on the AD server for Ansys Gateway powered by AWS operations. User accounts in those security groups are synchronized with Ansys Gateway powered by AWS about every 15 minutes. For users who are not in Active Directory, the tenant administrator can also manually add users on the page.
On the Users page, an administrator can view user information and manage user access levels.
Users listed on the Users page are also listed on the Permissions page of project spaces. In a project space, both the tenant administrator and project space administrator can edit the permissions of individual users in the project space. See Setting User Permissions in a Project Space.
If multiple users are involved in the setup process, they will become Admin users when the setup has been completed.
Tenants are independent of one another. A user can be part of multiple tenants at the same time and have different types of permissions in each tenant.
