When the source model of an imported SysML model has been changed, you can update the imported SysML model by reimporting the source model to medini analyze. The update mechanism compares the changed source model with the imported model in medini analyze and uses an intelligent automatic merge mechanism to update the elements.
The update wizard also provides a option to re-create deleted and changed elements in the imported copy. Note that existing additions to the imported model, such as failure modes or new diagrams, are preserved during an update.
For more information, see the following table.
Table 15.2: Update Handling
| Change in medini analyze | Regular Update | Update using "Force" |
|---|---|---|
| Added model element or connection | Kept during update | Kept during update |
| Added safety-related information, such as failure rate, failure modes, or safety mechanisms | Kept during update | Kept during update |
| Added profile values | Kept during update | Kept during update |
| New diagrams | Kept during update | Kept during update |
| Deleted elements | Remain deleted during update | Reimported if still in source model |
| Renamed elements | Keep new name during update | Renamed to name in source model |
| Moved elements | Remain moved during update | Moved to position found in source model |
Changes to imported superconnected elements: When a safety feature is added to the parent element and inherited by the child element in medini analyze, and the child element is deleted before an import update... | ...the child element is reimported, but the superconnection is not | ...the child element is reimported together with the superconnection, and medini analyze shows the inherited safety feature. |
The update process is the same regardless of which tool you imported from. To update an imported model, complete these steps:
In the model browser, navigate to the project package that contains your imported model.
Right-click in the package and select Update Model from <tool>....
The update wizard guides you through the update.
Note: If you are updating a model from Rhapsody, the source model must be open during update.
Optional. To re-create deleted and changed elementes in the imported copy, select the Force Update option.
