Mesh Sizing Defaults describes how the to computes the default sizes and how the values respond when you modify other sizing values.
The group options depend on the Physics Preference used. For Mechanical Physics Preference the Sizing group options are based on the selected Global Sizing Type in the Files > Options...> Meshing > Meshing. The available Global Sizing Type options are:
Program Controlled
On
Off
Program Controlled is the default option.
When the Physics Preference is Electromagnetics, Use Adaptive Sizing is Yes by default. For Mechanical Physics Preference, Use Adaptive Sizing is Yes only when the Global Sizing Type is Off in the Files > Options...> Meshing > Meshing.
When the Physics Preference is Nonlinear Mechanical, or CFD, or Explicit (for sheet bodies), Capture Curvature is set to Yes by default.
When the Physics Preference is , the only properties you can set are Element Size and Defeature Size.
When Use Adaptive Sizing is Yes, it includes:
When Use Adaptive Sizing is No, it includes:
Mesh Defeaturing (Defeature size)
Capture Curvature (Curvature Min Size and Curvature Normal Angle)
Capture Proximity (Proximity Min Size, Proximity Gap Factor, and Proximity Size Sources)
