1.4.5.2. Copy Composite Definitions Between Models

Within a single Ansys Workbench project, the ACP shared workflow enables you to copy a composite layup definition from one model to another. This approach is useful when the layup remains unchanged but must be reused across different model configurations.

To initiate the copy, first create a shared connection between two ACP (Pre) setup cells. Once the downstream cell (for example, D5 in Figure 1.40: Illustrates Two Analyses Sharing the Same ACP (Pre) Setup) receives the layup definition from the upstream cell (for example, B5), you can remove the connection. After the edge is deleted, the downstream cell retains a static copy of the layup definition and no longer reflects updates made to the original source.

This method supports one-time use of composite definitions without maintaining a live link between models. It is particularly helpful when you want to preserve a snapshot of the layup while continuing to modify the original independently.
