5.3. Co-Simulator

Set up the co-simulation using a Co-Simulator object.

The Co-Simulation object has the following details:

Interface Type

Choose Matlab or FMI as appropriate.

FMI Version

If using the FMI interface type, select version 1.0 or 2.0.

Interface Time Step

Time step used for co-simulation with Matlab and FMI 2.0.

Model Description

Text used by FMI.

Signal Input

List of Signal Input objects to use.

Signal Output

List of Signal Output objects to use.

You may also add a description for each Signal Input and Signal Output.

Maximum Step Size factor

You can change the level of the maximum step size before co-simulation using this parameter (see Maximum Step Size Factor in the Motion Preprocessor User Guide).

Max. step size = Interface time step * Maximum step size factor

Level of The Solver Message

You can change the message level before co-simulation using this parameter, as follows:

  • 0 : None - No messages regarding co-simulation are written

  • 1 : Partial - Only co-simulation progress is recorded

  • 2 : Full - All messages regarding co-simulation are written
