The OpenCRG Road Model (CRG = Curved Regular Grid) is based on the open source code available at http://www.opencrg.org/.
This model was developed for the storage of high-precision surface data by scanning. Its main applcations are vibration and driving analysis, and durability analysis based on realistic and accurate road surfaces.
The main advantages of CRG are high memory efficiency, low computation time, and accuracy for data processing.
For basic principles of road surface description, file components and parameters, and more information on the OpenCRG data format, refer to OpenCRG Version 1.2.0 (asam.net).
CRG Road Data is supported with FTire, MF-Tyre and MF-Swift (not Fiala). Visualization of the road is possible only with the Car Toolkit simulation (CRG Road is not visualized in general Motion).
