The model consists of a laptop screen frame manufactured with a double-gated injection molding process. The frame is made of a thermoplastic filled with short glass fibers. The injection molding process was simulated with Moldex3D^® which predicted the formation of two major weld lines.

Image A above shows the two gates and the melt fronts towards the end of the injection process. Image B shows the predicted weld lines location.

The model is already prepared and meshed in Ansys Mechanical.
