System Requirements

This page provides the hardware and software requirements your workstation must comply with.

Hardware Requirements

Your system must meet the following requirements.
Important: Do not install AVxcelerate Sensors Simulator on a workstation with a Xeon Gold or Silver CPU.

For information on the most recently tested NVIDIA GPU cards, see the GPU Accelerator Capabilities PDF on the Platform Support section of the Ansys Website.

  • The machine(s) being used for the simulation must contain at least one NVIDIA GPU card. The recommendations are as follows:
    • minimum card series - QUADRO RTX (5000, 6000, 8000)
    • recommended card series - RTX A (5000, 5500, 6000)
    • highly recommended for HIL use cases - RTX ADA (6000).
      Note: GeForce graphic cards are not supported.
  • NVIDIA GPU devices with at least 16GB of on-card memory are recommended.
  • NVIDIA GPU Driver versions:
    Important: The Graphic cards listed in the Graphics Cards Tested PDF on the Platform Support section of the Ansys Website have been tested with the recommended driver versions mentioned below.

    Note: When updating your GPU driver, selecting the Custom (Advanced) installation option, then ticking Perform a clean installation is highly recommended.

Software Requirements

Compatibility between AVxcelerate Sensors Simulator and driving simulators

AVxcelerate Sensors Simulator is compatible with:
  • AVSimulation SCANeR™ 2021.1
  • CarMaker and CarMaker HiL versions 11.0, 11.1, 12.0, 12.0.1, 12.0.2, 13.0
Note: If you want to build a custom CarMaker or CarMaker HiL Connector executable including the AVXConnector, additional software and tools are needed. For more details, refer to the chapter Building a Custom CarMaker or CarMaker HiL Connector Executable in the User's Guide.

Other Software Requirements

For multi-machine simulations, you must install PowerShell version 7.2.4 on each follower workstation with the options recommended below:
  • Add 'Run with powerShell 7' context menu for PowerShell files
  • Add 'Open here' context menus to Explorer

For a proper functioning of AVxcelerate Asset Preparation and Speos Labs, set a dot "." as decimal separator and a space as digit grouping symbol.
