17.8. Resolving Thermal Boundary Condition Conflicts

Conflicts between boundary conditions scoped to parts and individual faces

Boundary conditions applied to individual geometry faces always override those that are scoped to a part(s). For conflicts associated with various boundary conditions, the order of precedence is as follows:

  1. Applied temperatures (Highest).

  2. Convection, heat fluxes, and flows (Cumulative, but overridden by applied temperatures).

  3. Insulated (Lowest. Overridden by all of the above).
