When you export a mesh file to Meshing File format (File> Export from the Meshing application main menu, then Save as type Meshing File), a file with the extension .meshdat is created. The exported file can be imported as a legacy file into Ansys Workbench by either selecting File >Import from the Menu bar or clicking the Import button on the Toolbar, and then selecting an Importable Mesh File. This will create a Mesh System in the Ansys Workbench Project Schematic.
