The following variables and equations are included to help describe the specialized coordinate systems used by BladeGen.

Axial location.

R

Radius or radial location.

q or Theta

=

Rotation around Z axis from X towards Y axis (right hand rule).

b or Beta

Blade Angle, measured from the axial or tangential direction. Internally, BladeGen always uses the axial definition.

=

Fractional distance along a curve (between 0 and 1).

M

=

Distance along meridional curve.

M’ or M-Prime

=

Radius normalized distance along meridional curve.

C

=

True 3D distance along camberline (meanline).

q’ or Theta-Prime

=

Terminology given to describe the integral of R*dTheta. (See equations below)
