The material models in this section are available as beta features under Crack Growth Laws in the Engineering Data module. These material models support the SMART Method for Crack-Growth Simulation.
Be aware of the following when using these material models:
They apply to static structural analyses only.
Only one material model for fatigue crack growth can be used in a model.
Paris' Law
f(T) and/or f(R)
This material model implements Paris' Law for fatigue crack growth.
Tabular Fatigue Law
f(T) and/or f(R)
This material model implements the Tabular Fatigue Law for fatigue crack growth.
NASGRO V3
f(T)
This material model implements version 3 of the NASGRO equation for fatigue crack growth. NASGRO V3 cannot be used with crack-closure functions.
NASGRO V4
f(T)
This material model implements version 4 of the NASGRO equation for fatigue crack growth. NASGRO V4 cannot be used with crack-closure functions.
Walker Equation
f(T)
This material model implements the Walker equation for fatigue crack growth. Walker Equation cannot be used with crack-closure functions.
Forman Equation
f(T)
This material model implements the Forman equation for fatigue crack growth. Forman Equation cannot be used with crack-closure functions.
