12.6. Analyzing the Mesh

You can check the mesh statistics by opening Mesh Analysis or Mesh Analysis > Mesh Statistics.

Typical Mesh Statistics when Meshing High-Fidelity Geometry

Some of the mesh statistics might have apparent problems based on the usual quality criteria for meshes based on low-fidelity geometry. However, if you double-click any of the statistics that indicate a problem, you will most likely see in the 3D Viewer that the indicated elements are related to the unstructured mesh surrounding the high-fidelity geometric features. The quality criteria are different for the unstructured mesh. For example, small face angles that would be problematic for a flow solver in the hex mesh might be acceptable in the unstructured mesh.
