Set up and run a transient coupled simulation of convection heating of the fluid in a cylindrical tank. System Coupling manages the transfer of thermal data between the Fluent participant's fluid-thermal volumetric region and the FMU participant's thermal region of undefined topology.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use System Coupling to couple Ansys Fluent and a Functional Mock-up Unit (FMU) participant to simulate the convective heating of fluid in a tank. In this simulation:
The Fluent participant performs a volumetric transient fluid solution.
The FMU regulates the tank temperature by taking in a temperature measurement at a prescribed sensor location and adjusting the heat rate boundary condition on the lower surface of the tank accordingly.
System Coupling coordinates the coupled analysis between the two participants and the data transfers between them.
