Add the Participants

Add the coupling participants to populate the co-simulation data model.


Note:  The example below is for a co-simulation run on Windows. To run on Linux, use the TestheaterLin.fmu file instead.


  1. Add the FMU.

    1. In the System Coupling GUI, right-click the Setup branch and select Add Participant.

      The Add Participant dialog opens.

    2. Indicate that you want to add the participant using its input file.

    3. Navigate to the HeatingTankFMU working directory, select the TestHeaterWin.fmu file, and click Open.

    4. Click Add.

    The Coupling Participant branch is added to the tree, with the testHeater participant defined underneath it.

  2. Add the Fluent participant.

    1. Expand the Setup branch.

    2. Right-click the Coupling Participant branch and select Add.

      The Add Participant dialog opens.

    3. Indicate that you want to add the participant using its input file.

    4. Navigate to the Fluent working directory, select the HeatedFluid.scp file, and click Open.

    5. Click Add.

    The Fluid Flow (Fluent) participant is added to the tree.
