Generate Fluent's Solver Input and Participant Setup File

Generate the solver input and System Coupling Participant setup files needed to include Fluent in the coupled analysis. To do so, perform the following steps:

  1. Enable auto-generation of the .scp file.

    1. Select File > Export > System Coupling > Auto-write SCP File.

The Auto-write SCP File dialog opens.

    2. Select Auto-write SCP File with Case File.

    3. Click OK to close the dialog.

With this setting enabled, the .scp file will be generated each time a .cas.h5 file is produced or updated for this case.

Tip:  The .scp file can also be generated on demand by selecting Export > System Coupling > Write SCP File.

  2. Generate the solver input and .scp files.

    1. Select File > Write > Case.

      The Select File dialog opens.

    2. For Case File, keep the file name as HeatedFluid.cas.h5 and click OK.

    3. At the overwrite prompt, click OK.

Fluent writes a .cas.h5 file and an .scp file of the specified name to the coupling working directory.

  3. Select File > Exit to close Fluent.

  4. Navigate to the Fluent coupling working directory.

The directory now contains the HeatedFluid.cas.h5 solver input file and the System Coupling Participant setup file, HeatedFluid.scp.

The Fluent setup is complete.
