Ansys Polyflow requires all element Jacobians to have the same sign. If not, Ansys Polydata will try to reorient the incorrectly oriented elements geometrically (that is, on the basis of the coordinates) or topologically (that is, on the basis of the connectivity numbering) when it converts the PATRAN or I-deas mesh file. If any improperly oriented elements cannot be corrected, Ansys Polydata will report that the mesh connectivity is incorrect, and you will have to return to PATRAN or I-deas to reorient these elements. Ansys Polydata corrects the orientation for all imported meshes, not just for PATRAN and I-deas.
