You can use a UDT in three different ways. These methods are described in subsequent sections. In summary, a UDT can be used to:
List and modify all parameters using the As Usual Method).

command line option. This is referred to as the "Real UDT" method (see Real UDT Method). Note that Ansys Polyman will always launch Ansys Polydata in this mode when the data file contains flagged parameters.Set the new value of the parameter(s) in the templates.upd file, which is created by Ansys Polydata during the creation of a UDT, and execute Ansys Polydata in scripts using the Ansys Polydata
-TPL -UPDT templates.upd
command line option. This is referred to as the "Script" method (see Script Method). Note that Ansys Polydata updates its database on the basis of the contents in templates.upd.
