30.28. Volume of Liquid

With this postprocessor, you can evaluate the volume of the flow domain. If the flow domain contains overlapping internal moving parts (see Flows with Internal Moving Parts), the calculation of the volume will remove the part of the flow domain overlapped by the moving parts, in order to provide the actual volume occupied by the fluid.

The procedure for specifying the calculation of the flow domain volume is as follows:

  1. Create a new sub-task.

    1. Select Postprocessor as the sub-task type.

    2. When prompted, enter a name for the postprocessor sub-task.

  2. In the F.E.M. Task Postprocessor menu, select Volume of liquid.

    Ansys Polydata will tell you where the calculation will be performed. You can click OK to continue.

    No additional parameters or boundary conditions are required.
