The symmetry condition is equivalent to imposing zero values for the normal velocity and tangential force. For axisymmetric models, Ansys Polydata identifies the axis of symmetry () automatically, and imposes the symmetry condition on that boundary section.

To define symmetry conditions on a boundary section, select the Plane of symmetry (fs=0, vn=0) menu item in the list of boundary condition choices. No further inputs are required.
