20.2.2. Exit Boundary Conditions

The boundary condition at the exit of the computational domain should be handled carefully. Indeed, one can presently assume vanishing forces. In the actual process, the acceleration in the extrusion direction might be hindered by the material located further downstream on the extrusion line. Under some circumstances, a non-vanishing normal force or a normal velocity might therefore be more appropriate, or at least should not be rejected as such.
