Saving an External Project

You can save a local project to external data sources.

  1. From the menu bar, select File > Save current project as > Save project to an external location.

  2. If the project has not been saved before, in the File name field, enter a name for the project and click Save.

  3. Select an option from the Type list.

    Format/ProtocolSource
    FilesystemFile on a local computer or in the network
    SubversionURL to a location and a revision in a SVN repository
    PuTTY_SSHHost name and file on a network computer
    Custom File AccessLocation and revision
  4. Set the path to the external location. The method for doing so depends on the type previously selected.

  5. Click OK.

  6. The Project preparation wizard opens. To use this wizard, click Next. To close the wizard and copy the project as-is, click Skip preparation step.

  7. Configure how to handle working data by selecting if the project should be reset and how to store the working directory contents.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Review and edit registered files as required.

  10. Click Next.

  11. Review and edit placeholders as required.

  12. Click Next.

  13. Review the files referenced in the project to identify potential problems with missing or absolute file paths. You cannot change file paths in this window.

  14. Click Next.

  15. Select the check boxes to export the project settings and/or placeholder file along with the project.

  16. Click Next.

  17. Check the summary to ensure you have selected the appropriate preparation settings.

  18. Click Finish.
