AEDT offers a special type of postprocessing variables. When they are varied while other parameters stay constant, a new design variation can be evaluated with very little computational burden as compared to solving from scratch. In order to leverage this efficiency feature, make sure that the option Copy simulation results is checked. AEDT stores simulation results in the .aedtresults folder accompanying a solved project. Only if the stored solution data are carried over to projects working copies evaluated in design directories, a renewed calculation can be avoided.
