This section first gives general guidelines on how many CPU cores to use in Forte simulations. Then, more targeted recommendations are discussed by using several representative scenarios as examples. For each scenario, key simulation configuration parameters (such as engine bore size, chemistry mechanism size) will be given to show the scale of the simulation. You can find the best match to your own case from these examples and estimate the optimal number of CPU cores to use based on the mesh size of your case and the recommended number of cells per core. Finally, general advice on hardware requirements is given.
