19.6. Modified Momentum-Based Rhie-Chow Flux Type

When using the pressure-based solver, a modified version of the Rhie-Chow: momentum based flux type is available. The modified formulation applies the same high-order, momentum-weighted interpolation for the face-flux calculation, but uses a volume-weighted formulation for the face-pressure gradient interpolation. To use this modified version, perform the following steps:

  1. Enable beta features (Introduction).

  2. In the General task page, select Pressure-Based for the solver Type.

  3. Open the Solution Methods task page.

    1. Disable the Auto Select option next to the Flux Type drop-down list.

    2. Select Rhie-Chow: momentum based modified from the Flux Type drop-down list.

Note:  This modified flux type is not available for multiphase models other than the wet steam model.
