When using the boundary projection treatment method, you can select a discrete mesh optimization (DMO) scheme for the boundary mesh optimization option, which can result in significantly less defeaturing compared to the default conjugate gradient scheme. The DMO scheme is based on the work of Zint et al.[1].

To use the DMO scheme, enable beta features using the /beta yes OK text command; then ensure that the boundary projection treatment method is selected and the boundary mesh optimization option is enabled; and finally, use the following text command to select dmo before meshing:
