When considering the linear elasticity structural model, the linear relationship between strain and displacements was assumed. This assumption is only suitable for as long as small displacement concept is valid. Contrary to that, the large displacement implies a significant change in initial geometry and consequently geometric nonlinearity must be introduced into the solution algorithm (see Bhatti [59] for additional details).
